High Impact Melamine

doors for built in kitchen

cupboards, is a very widely

used product with a lot of

applications for a very

good price. Using either

chipboard or supawood a

substrate, a single sheet of

melamine-impregnated, decor paper is bonded to both the board's surfaces under heat and pressure. This provides a durable, scratch and moisture resistant surface.  Melamine is suitable for medium duty vertical applications, such as door and drawer frontals, carcassing, furniture components and shelving, as well as wall cladding and interior building elements. Melamine is an ideal choice for kitchen, built-in-cupboard and case-goods applications. Melamine is available in two surface finishes, Texture (a smooth, Matt finish) and Alpine (an embossed, wood grain finish).

The board still needs to be edged , and the preferred way is to edge with 3mm PVC edging , or Impact edging as it is called. This is a very popular , cost effective , but durable product to manufacture doors from.
